Upcycled Linky Party {39}

Hey did you sneak a peak at last week's upcycled linky party projects?  There were several fun Valentine's Day projects linked up as you can imagine.  But with a few tweaks to this one from Little Brags, it is just perfect for Easter.  I'm such a sucker for a cute little bunny, be sure to swing by her blog to see all the "junk" finds she used in her Bunny Kisses Vignette:

And if that li'l bunny doesn't get you in the mood for spring, this one should.  The bushcrafter came up with an excellent way to decorate and reuse plastic containers, I love the colors:

In honor of the olympics, this week's shop feature comes from Books Etc. These cute little envelopes are made from old book pages:

Now on to the Upcycled Linky Party #39.  Here's the run down on the rules:

1.  Feel free to link up no more than one upcycled tutorial that you created and one upcycled item from your shop each week.
2.  Please don't link up the same items or blog posts as in previous weeks, let's keep it fresh.
3.  Follow Love 2 Upcycle by email or Google connect.
4.  This is a party so socialize!  Visit at least one shared link and leave a meaningful comment or "favorite" it if it is an Etsy shop item.  It would be nice if you followed them as well, but it is not required.
5.  Please keep it family friendly and upcycled!  We reserve the right to remove any links that aren't appropriate.

Upcycled Linky Party {38}

Happy happy Monday!  You know what time it is....If you didn't have a chance to check out Last Week's Upcycled Linky Party, here are a few of the highlights (and, of course, I'm going with a Valentine's Day theme):

I totally heart this homemade wrapping paper made from fabric and fused plastic.  I think I found my 2014 holiday gift wrap theme thanks to Gina's Craft Corner!  Just need to start saving up my cereal bags.

I love these sweet heart shaped hand warmers from Uniquely UK.  It seems that even those of us living in the "warmer" southern parts of the United States still have have some chilly winter weather ahead, so I'm definitely whipping up a few:

This week's shop feature is for those of you who have a great love of horses!  This refinished vintage horse head wall hanging from Through the Doggy Door is a wonderful color, don't you think?

Hey, hey!! It's time for another Upcycled Linky Party.  There was some pretty awesome projects linked up last week so be sure to check it out if you missed it.  Here are few highlights....

I love the colors in this scrap wood key holder AND that it's made from wood flooring leftovers, clever.   Check out how she made it on the Reduce, Reuse, Renewed blog.
This tutorial for a felted wintry bag has me inspired to go dig up some wool sweaters from Goodwill.  Check out the full details at Gina's Craft Room.

This week's shop feature comes from Once Upon A Firefly.  Isn't this just the sweetest tassel made from a salt shaker

Welcome to another fabulously upcycled Monday.  Just in case you missed all the fantastic ways to store your pens/pencils in last week's Upcycled Linky Party, I thought I'd throw in one more this week.  Buttons and Paint is at it again with this fun little Capri Sun Pencil Pouch.  Check out the full DIY and make one of your own:

You've all seen those T-shirt quilts, right?  Well, I love this little spin on the concept by Vicky Meyers.  She's taken her hubbies old striped work shirts and created a pretty nifty little design for her quilt.  Be sure to click through to see the full quilt photos:

Upcycled Linky Party {35}

Maybe it's because we are three weeks into the new year and it's about time for all of our New Year's resolutions to begin slipping to the wayside that I'm attracted to the pencil pots that were linked up to last week's Upcycled Linky Party.  Where else shall we put all the pens and pencils that we are using to keep all those lists of things that we are supposed to be doing in the new year, right?

Buttons and Paint always brings us some fabulous DIY projects and this week was no different when she shows us how to make a super quick wooden pencil pot made from a large branch:

How about this version of a pencil pot that doesn't look at all like a pencil pot?  Reinvent and Upcycle shows us not only how to upcycle a mason jar into a fancy pencil pot but gives us a pretty way to keep our pens from getting lost!

This week's shop feature is super yummy!  Check out these sweet Starburst Headbands from La Alicia:

Upcycled Linky Party {33}

Happy Happy New Year everyone! I hope your holiday season was one filled with family, love and laughter...and of course, an upcycled craft or two.  Before the break we saw some sweet upcycled projects the holidays and beyond.  And with the new year, I'm looking forward to lots more projects.  So if you're ready to get your new year craft on, then please read on.

A fantastic way to organize all those to do lists on the fridge would be with these quick and simple wine cork magnets by The Wooden Bee.  (You did resolve to be more organized didn't you?)

This Shattered Glass Frame Wall Art from Reduce, Reuse, Renewed is adorable as is but it would also work with some hearts instead of stars for the upcoming Valentine's holiday.

And this week's shop feature is this Rustic Chalkboard Sign by WaterColoredWindows (everything looks better with a little chalkboard paint, no?):

Upcycled Linky Party {30}

Well good Monday morning y'all!  I'm just back from a weekend long road trip from the South to Connecticut and back again.  I'm tired.  It's Monday. So a party is just the thing to perk me up, don't you think?

Last week's party was great fun and I found the DIY Loom Box from Green Issues by Agy to be a nifty little treasure that I just have to give a whirl.  I can't wait to whip up some T-shirt yarn coasters!

-

And while we're on the subject of T-shirts.  Holy cow, did you see this bit of artwork made from a worn out T-shirt?  What a great way to preserve some memories, check out the DIY on Buttons and Paint!

And this week's shop feature comes from Our Children's Earth and is definitely something that I wish I had with me on road trip up North this weekend.  Folks, it's cold up there!

Upcycled Linky Party {29}

I know, I know...it's November.  Suddenly, there's not enough time for anything.  But did you have a chance to swing by and check out some of the projects linked up the 28th edition of the Upcycled Linky Party?  If not, here's a couple of fun tidbits:

I'm absolutely ga-ga over this ever so eco-chic fused plastic handbag for a doll from Gina's Craft Corner:

http://ginascraftcorner.blogspot.com/2013/10/eco-bag-for-18-doll-using-fused-plastic.html

And while we're on the subject of fashion, Vicky Meyers showed us how she turned her daughter's oversized skirt into one that fit JUUUUUST right and turned the leftovers into a pretty fabric brooch.

http://vickymyerscreations.co.uk/sewing-2/upcycled-skirt-broach/

And this week's fashionable shop feature, is this fabulous barrette made from a spoon handle.  Yeah, I made it but nobody else linked up a shop item so I had to feature my own stuff.  Maybe this week, y'all will link up some fabulousness from your own shops!  {hint, hint, nudge, nudge}

Happy Halloween Week!  Yep, week!  I know some of you are just crazy....about the holiday, that is.  So I hope you'll celebrate to your hearts content all week long.  I'm more of a Fall gal.  I celebrate the season, so I just fell in love with the rustic look of this scrappy wall hanging that was linked up to last week's Upcycled Linky Party.  Check out Another Bright Idea for all the details:

And if you're looking for that perfect Fall bag, why not grab an old corduroy men's shirt and transform it into this adorable handbag from Creating My Way to Success:

As we round out National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I thought this T-shirt Dress from Our Children's Earth was an appropriate shop feature this week:

Hey did you check out last weeks Upcycled Linky Party?  There were some pretty nifty upcycled projects and items linked up.  Not the least of which was this cool little nature project.  Admittedly, I HAD to click through just to find out what a conker was.  The lovely ladies over at Buttons and Paint called this project a Conker Pot Stand, be sure to check it out:

And Cindy over at the Upcycled Design Lab showed us that there is just no reason to get rid of a piece of clothing because it doesn't fit quite right.  See how she took his jacket from drab to fab with with a needle and thread:

This weeks shop feature comes from Serendipitini  and is this fabulous sun catcher made from reclaimed iron work, glass bottle bottoms and an assortment of other upcycled goodies:

Upcycled Linky Party {26}

It was a few weeks ago when I greeted you with "Happy Fall, Y'all" for the official start to Autumn.  But it hasn't really felt like Autumn until this past week, the weather is cooler and the leaves in my neck of the woods have just started to fall.  So it felt pretty natural to highlight  a couple of the Autumn themed tutorials linked up from last weeks linky party.

I'm loving all the fall colors and pine cones on this fabulous Fall bunting from Another Bright Idea

The Wooden Bee brought us another fabulous (and easy) cork project for Halloween

And this weeks shop feature is this Upcycled Snack Wrapper Necklace from La Alicia, ya gotta do something with all those candy wrappers!

Why hello there, I'd like to introduce you to Mr. Bouncy.  He is a snake, a simple snake, a upcycled snake.  If you've got an old phone cord or cellphone charger and a couple of corks laying around (I know I do) you too can create this fabulous toy for the little or guy or gal in your life.  And you have the Upcycled Linky Party #24 to thank for it so be sure to swing by our Our Children's Earth for the full tutorial.

And if not for this very party you wouldn't know that you could sew a real pressed Autumn leave onto some upcycled denim either.  Thank you to Gina's Craft Corner for this fabulous tutorial.

And don't forget to shop with the many upcycling artists on Etsy.  You can find some really fabulous, one-of-a-kind upcycled creations like this Recycled Sweater Jacket:

#Follow Friday~ More Blogs 2 Love!

Here are a few Blogs 2 Love directly from our Upcycled Linky Parties!

From Jill Shepherd's blog~
Creating My Way To Success!

I have several nighties in my clothes upcycling stash and had an idea as to how they could best be upcycled.

The soft, silky fabric makes for beautiful little bags made using my Fabric Origami Bag tutorial:

Well, I have had an interesting week or two of sewing.  Besides this bag, I was also trying to make a dress for my daughter out of one of my husband's shirts.... BOMBED!  I've also been working on some little booties that were supposed to be so easy.  Thanks Martha Stewart!  They were pretty easy, but they looked so cheap.  I'm trying to improve on those and will hopefully write about them soon.

As far as this project....it almost bombed.  I guess that should be expected when you're experimenting with new things.  For a while now I have been trying to figure out how I can combine my two loves, sewing and pressed flowers/leaves, into a bag.  Improvements need to be made with the concept, but I'm really happy with the end result.  I hope you like it too!

How to Build an Indoor Swing~ from Sarah @ Iamhardware.com

The swing is my personal favorite of the tree house project and I’ve got great news, it’s easy. Like my-mom-is-so-amazing-in-an-hour easy. Buying a swing is around 50 buckaroos. This baby cost be less than $10!  Follow the tutorial at this link.

From Broken to Useful from All Things Alysha~

This wooden chair was left outside and started to fall apart. So I placed a flower pot in the broken bottom part and placed it in our front yard. We used to have a large bush there but the landscaping people needed to access the sprinklers so they cut it down leaving an eye sore of a stump. This broken chair/flower stand is a great way to hide something ugly and use something that would have gone to the dump. I'm planning on turning the broken top part into a trelis for climbing plants but that's for another day. . .

Check out some of our past Upcycled Linky Parties for more great Blogs 2 Love~ and please remember to follow and comment!
