Sustainable Sundays: Labor Day Favorites
Most people think of Labor Day as a nice, relaxing long weekend. Others view it as the beginning of fall or the start of football season. However, the last holiday of summer is more than a day off work. It is a controversial American holiday started by unionized laborers who wanted better working conditions. Some of these laborers even died for this labor movement in late 1800s.
So let's give thanks to those workers and this movement for improving the quality of life of so many Americans!
Upcyclers is always striving to improve the conditions of our planet. We support and promote hard working individuals who are pursuing sustainable business choices.
This Sunday I let our hardworking shops choose the Sustainable Sunday picks! Each week our team has a discussion posting where our upcycled shops pick their favorite items from fellow members. We have over 300 pages of magnificent finds.

Sustainable Sundays: Fall Finds
Wow September is almost here! Summer vacations are ending and students are heading back to school. In fact last week's Sustainable Sundays post was absent from the blog because I was finishing our last summer trip before the kids had to return to school.

Weekly Giveaway: Pwark!
We hope you've been enjoying National Craft Month and the beginning signs of Spring~ the perfect time of year to start all kinds of outdoor projects for your home and garden! And we hope you enjoyed browsing the sales in the shops we featured in last week's giveaway~ including mine, lol! Congrats to Shani, the lucky winner of my funky fibers, I hope she enjoys them, I'll be shipping them out to her later today!
This week we've got another funky prize~ A Pwark! What's that you say? They are wacky looking upcycled, stuffed monster creations that each have their own quirky personality! The creator, Tiwi, has generously offered one of these lovable and unique Pwarks to our followers:
I was fascinated looking at all the creatures in Tiwi's shop on Etsy~ Pwark but then I went to Pwarkland and was blown away by the dozens more he has there! And I was able to get to know more about his creative adventures when I read his Pwark blog as well. His monsters are evolving as he tries new medias like needlefelting and crochet.
Tiwi is also creating custom orders~ Here's a teddy bear he created recently for someone, but now he has to make another because a friend begged him for the first one!
