Meet & Greet: FunkyJunkCompany

Allison loves the beauty in imperfection. she believes that each piece she creates has its own story, which only adds to its overall charm.  The reason she sells on Etsy is so vintage items can be loved all over again.

Her main goal for Funky Junk Company is to reuse, recycle and recreate beautiful salvaged goods.

I asked Allison a few questions about herself and her business, here is what she had to say:

Tell us a little about yourself and what you sell.
My name is Allison Clarke, I am 38. I have 2 daughters Sophie and Zoe. I live in NJ and I make vintage cork boards, chalkboards, mirrors and barn wood frames.

How did you come up with the name for your shop?
The name of my shop just popped into my head one day. I liked the sound of it, so I went with it.

Why did you decide to work with upcycled/recycled/repurposed/vintage materials?
I love to recycle materials and give new life to old, discarded items. Recycling is very important to me. Green all the way!

What is your favorite thing about running your Etsy shop?
My favorite thing about running my shop is meeting all the wonderful handmade artists on Etsy and meeting all my customers.

What inspires you to create/sell what you do?
I love making pretty things. All the other artists inspire me to create everyday.
